The debate over rubber mackintoshes and
capes worn with hoods and masks and the future
direction of RubberEnthusiast.com
by Kristine
The debate over the type of content which should be included in this
website has already started and will likely not stop for quite some
time.
As usual there appears to be two camps; those for the inclusion of
hoods and masks (including gas masks) and those firmly against.
Recently, I have received a number of email's from enthusiasts on
both sides of this argument and interestingly a large number of
"rubberists"  who wish to see more bizarre outfits and restriction
included.
The fact is, while I still very much welcome feedback and
suggestions from "all" enthusiast's, I have decided to take a more
"free form" approach regarding the posting of content on the
website.

Welcome to Rubber Enthusiast.com
Sadly, there are only a few print magazines and websites today that exclusively cover the subject
of dressing for pleasure in both rubber and rubber rainwear.
The fact is that rubber and rainwear enthusiasts tend to be from an older generation who are less
appealing to advertisers who financially  support the majority of  commercial publications and
websites.
While there are plenty of free online rubber and rainwear groups on the internet, these tend to rely
on previously  published photographs and seldom feature written articles and stories.
During these troubled economic times, it is hard to predict the success of any new publication
(online or off)  let alone one catering to a very small audience, but I am going to give it my best
shot (with your support) and see what happens.

The Secret Life of the Rubber Mackintosh
The mystery of my missing SBR Mackintosh
I purchased my first shiny black rubber mackintosh in the
early eighties from a boutique in London's Covent Garden.
A truly perfect fit, my mackintosh looked absolutely
fabulous, worn either tightly belted-up over a jacket and
skirt, or worn casually over an old sweater and pair of
jeans.
Traveling to my office in central London by train everyday, I
soon learnt that on rainy days both my mackintosh and I
would  attract a significant amount of attention from male
passengers.
Some would observe me from a safe distance while
others made a point of standing or sitting as close to me
as they possibly could inside the train carriage.
Occasionally, I would receive a compliment, typically from
an older gentleman that I looked ......

Back in the early seventies, there was a ladies dress
shop just off Epsom High Street with a secret.
To the casual observer, May's of Epsom was a typical high
end ladies fashion boutique serving the customers from
Epsom in Surrey and the surrounding Home Counties.

In the beginning there was
Atomage Magazine.

As frequent visitors to this website will have
noticed, I have been doing some fine tunning
in an effort to see what works and what does
not.
This past week I renamed the Achieve Area the Download Area,
and will now be posting new photos to this area on a regular basis.
One particular set "Rubber Dilemma" is my  personal "imitation is
the highest form of flattery'"
statement to the lady featured in the
Atomage magazine photo shown above (on the left). Quite a picture!

Also, at the urging of several rubber bondage enthusiasts, I will be
adding several sets of "rubber restriction" photos (taken over the
past eight years) which have all proved to be very popular.

The launch of RubberEnthusiast.com has been delayed until
September 2009 in order to incorporate "harder" content and a
change of production location for both photography and web
hosting.
I apologise for any inconvenience caused
